Race-bending: The Scooby Gang

I just dug up this old picture and thought it might be fun to upload it here.

A few years ago, someone challenged me to draw a "racebent" version of the Scooby Gang where all the main characters were Black. This was the result.


I wanted to make them recognizable. However, I also wanted to avoid making them look like palette swaps of the originals. So I changed up the clothes, hair, and faces a bit.

I had Aisha Tyler in mind when I drew Daphne. And I wanted Fred to look like a slightly less dorky Carlton Banks.

In retrospect, Shaggy's dreds probably should have been messier. But, oh well. XD
